Corona del Mar, Newport Tie for Title

Laurie Wotten had 17 kills, Laurie Sawin had 15 and Jennifer McCloskey had 12 blocks Thursday night to lead Corona del Mar High School to a 15-13, 15-9, 5-15, 17-15 victory over Newport Harbor at Corona del Mar, and the teams ended in a tie for the Sea View League championship.

Corona del Mar is 9-1, 14-3. Newport Harbor is 9-1, 15-2. Estanica finished third in the league with a 5-5 record. A coin toss will determine the first and second place representatives in the Southern Section 4-A playoffs.
