Burned Woman Delays Seeking Aid for 8 Hours

SALT LAKE CITY — A 65-year-old woman who delayed calling for help after her robe caught fire because she “didn’t want to bother anyone” was in critical condition Monday with burns over 48% of her body, authorities said.
Norma Touart, whose synthetic-material robe caught fire when she was cooking, apparently lay in her apartment for more than eight hours Sunday before she finally called for help, Fire Department Capt. Roger Stroud said.
