Homecoming for 49ers
The Cal State Long Beach football team will play its homecoming game against Eastern Washington University at 1 p.m. Saturday at Veterans Stadium. The 49ers improved their record to 3-3 last Saturday with a 14-3 victory at Utah State.
Compton Wins First
Quarterback Lance Salters passed for 442 yards and three touchdowns last Saturday to lead Compton College to a 37-31 victory over El Camino. The victory was the first of the season for the Tartars after six defeats.
Wooten Leads Cerritos
Andre Wooten, a freshman from Cerritos High School, ran for three touchdowns and passed for another last week to lead Cerritos College to a 28-19 victory over Fullerton. One of Wooten’s touchdowns came on a school-record 91-yard run. The Falcons (4-2-1) play at home against Pasadena at 7:30 p.m. Saturday.
