Santa Monica : Concern Over Theater Plan
Residents who live north of Wilshire Boulevard and members of Mid-City Neighbors are forming a committee to address neighborhood concerns about a commercial project with six movie theaters proposed on Wilshire between 23rd and 24th streets in Santa Monica.
Michael Tarbet of Mid-City Neighbors said about 120 residents attended a meeting Monday to express their concerns about the project being proposed by Developers Equities of Century City.
Tarbet said the developer has been “very forthcoming” in working with neighbors to allay concerns. But he said residents are worried about traffic that would be generated by the 1,800-seat movie theater complex.
