Gianulias Takes Lead in Bowling Tournament

Nikki Gianulias averaged 244 over 16 games Thursday to take a 217-pin lead over Jeanne Maiden after the fourth round of the $30,000 Dewey Stevens-Ladies Pro Bowlers Tour Brunswick L.A. Open at the Wonder Bowl in Anaheim.
Gianulias of Vallejo won 15 of her 16 matches to advance from 12th place with a 34-game total of 7,995 pins. Maiden, of Solon, Ohio and trying to earn her fourth title of the year, has a 7,778-pin total.
