In seven games, Jack Ramsay has found out something about his Indiana Pacers.

Wayman Tisdale came off the bench for 24 points and 14 rebounds as the Pacers rallied from 16 points down to a 120-117 overtime victory over the New Jersey Nets Thursday night at East Rutherford, N.J.

“The characteristic of this team is that they won’t give up,” Ramsay said. “This was our first road win, and because we play 9 of our first 13 on the road, it was real important.”

Tisdale grabbed a rebound and hit a short shot to tie the game, 112-112, with 3:45 left in overtime. He put Indiana ahead for good 32 seconds later by grabbing his own missed shot and scoring.

Orlando Woolridge scored a game-high 30 points for the Nets.

Golden State 112, Philadelphia 104--Larry Smith scored all of his 11 points and grabbed 9 of his 19 rebounds in the decisive third period at Oakland as the Warriors snapped the 76ers’ winning streak at four games.
