The body of an unidentified woman was found Thursday in bushes at Balboa Park, police reported.

Sgt. Chuck Sleeper said the body was discovered at 8:40 a.m. by a transient who frequents the area around El Prado and Balboa Drive west of the Cabrillo Bridge. The area is known to locals as Nate’s Point.

There were no obvious injuries, and an autopsy is scheduled. An investigation is under way, Sleeper said.
