The man found shot to death Sunday in the Ocean Beach garage where he lived was Michael Moores, 38, police spokesman Bill Robinson said. Moores was discovered by a friend shortly after 6 p.m., lying dead of a gunshot wound to the head on a couch in the garage, behind a liquor store at Voltaire and Abbot streets, Robinson said.
Moores appeared to have been dead for at least a few hours, police said. Residents of an apartment complex next door to the garage reported seeing two men loitering near the garage about 4 a.m. Sunday, and some told detectives they thought they heard shots shortly thereafter, a neighbor said.
Homicide detectives have not identified any suspects in the slaying, nor have they established a motive, Robinson said. Moores’ pickup truck was discovered missing at the same time his body was found, Robinson said.
