Linebacker John Brantley, Georgia’s leading tackler, has been removed from the Bulldogs’ starting lineup for the Hall of Fame Bowl for disciplinary reasons, Coach Vince Dooley said.

Dooley announced that Brantley will be placed on the second team and sophomore Terrie Webster will move up to the starting position for the Dec. 23 bowl appearance against Boston College in Tampa, Fla.

Brantley, a junior who led the team with 160 tackles during the regular season, and two former Georgia football players were involved in an incident at an Athens bar last week. All three were arrested and will be charged with misdemeanor simple battery.
