SDSU’s Morton Is All-American
Kris Morton, a middle blocker for the No. 5-ranked San Diego State women’s volleyball team, has been named to the 12-player Collegiate Volleyball Coaches Assn. All-American first team, it was announced Friday in Stockton.
Morton, a 6-foot 4-inch sophomore from Springfield, Ore., led the Aztecs in blocks-per-game average at 4.92 and set a school single-season record with 219 blocks. Her 559 kills is the second highest by an Aztec during a season.
Morton is SDSU’s fourth all-time leader in blocks (439), ninth in kills (909) and fourth in hitting percentage (.306).
