Costa Mesa : Motorcyclist Killed in Collision With Car
A motorcyclist was killed and his passenger was seriously injured Sunday when they collided with a car that was making a left turn off Baker Street onto Coolidge Avenue, police said.
Wilfred (Sonny) Chee, 20, of Costa Mesa suffered internal injuries and died at the scene. His passenger, Daniel Webb, 20, of Costa Mesa, is in critical condition at Fountain Valley Community Hospital with head injuries and multiple fractures of his left leg, Police Lt. John Regan said.
Chee was westbound on Baker when the accident occurred, police said.
Chee, who had given his helmet to Webb, was driving him to work in Costa Mesa, Coroner Richard Rodriguez said. Police will continue its investigation, Regan said.
