Ohio State University football Coach Earle Bruce...
Ohio State University football Coach Earle Bruce has interviewed for the vacant University of Arizona post, a Tucson newspaper reported.
The Tucson Citizen said Ohio State athletic director Rick Bay confirmed that Bruce was interviewed over the weekend by University of Arizona Athletic Director Cedric Dempsey for the job vacated by Larry Smith, who resigned last week to become head coach at USC.
Bruce, who has a 121-56 overall record in 15 years, one of the best in the country, was seen with Dempsey on Sunday in Tucson, the Citizen said.
The Citizen said Dempsey, at the NCAA football coaches’ convention that began Monday in San Diego, refused to comment, and Bruce could not be reached Monday in Tucson or in San Diego.
