A 22-year-old woman was in critical condition after running twice into a burning San Bernardino cottage to try to rescue her trapped 4-year-old son, who died in the fire, authorities said. Nora Norwood received burns over 50% of her body while attempting to rescue her son, Lloyd, who was pronounced dead at the scene. Norwood was preparing dinner with her mother in a house at the front of the property when she saw smoke coming from the small cottage where her son was sleeping, officials said. She twice ran into the burning house to rescue her son, who was trapped under the fallen roof, but was driven out by the flames.
