Mangaki Wins at Santa Anita

Mangaki led all the way to win Santa Anita’s $45,000 feature race by 2 3/4 lengths over Catane Thursday before 16,142 fans.
The 9-10 favorite, ridden by Patrick Valenzuela and carrying high pounds, covered 1 1/8 miles on Santa Anita’s turf course in 1:49 and paid $3.80, $2.80 and $3.
Catane finished a head in front of Willingness and returned $4.60 and $4.20. Willingness paid $5 to show.
