Two University of Maryland basketball players, Keith Gatlin and Terry Long, have withdrawn from the school, apparently because of academic and eligibility problems, the Washington Post reported.

Long, along with teammate David Gregg, had been suspended following the cocaine-induced death of the Terrapins’ star player, Len Bias, on June 19. The two players were indicted and charged with cocaine possession and obstruction of justice for allegedly cleaning evidence of drug use from Bias’ dorm room before authorities arrived.

The charges were dropped against the two in October after they testified before a grand jury, and Long was later reinstated at the school on the condition he not play basketball.

Gatlin, who was to be the Terrapins only returning senior, withdrew after attending some classes. He was ruled “administratively ineligible” to play basketball in October because of unpaid parking tickets.
