Lucas Has Career-High 28 Points to Lead SCC Past UC San Diego
Rob Lucas scored a career-high 28 points, making 13 of 20 shots as Southern California College defeated UC San Diego, 96-78, in a nonconference basketball game at Southern California.
SCC led at halftime, 47-35, and was never threatened.
Jeff Stephens made four of nine three-point attempts, adding 20 points for the Vanguards (12-6), who broke a three-game losing streak. Stephens also had eight rebounds and seven assists.
Greg Kamansky scored a game-high 29 for UC San Diego (13-6).
In other nonconference games:
Pacific Christian 70, Loma Linda 62--Ken Osmess scored 26 points and Burton Lalk added 18 to lead the Deacons at Cal State Fullerton. Pacific Christian (11-11) led at halftime, 41-26.
