Aztecs Look for First WAC Victory
In pursuit of its first Western Athletic Conference victory, San Diego State University (0-7, 2-15) plays at Hawaii (0-7, 5-13) today.
Like SDSU, the Rainbows suffered their most recent WAC defeat at home against Wyoming. Thursday night, the Aztecs lost, 79-70. Hawaii lost, 66-61 Saturday night.
Hawaii is paced by freshman guard Chris Gaines, who is averaging 15.8 points a game, has a team-leading 34 steals and a .836 free-throw percentage. The Rainbows also are led by 6-foot 7-inch forward Alan Andrus, who is averaging 13.6 points and 7.2 rebounds a game.
