Broncos fans Jim and Kathy Bartilotta of Denver were wearing the only orange visible in a deep sea of blue in the stands.
“We got these tickets through the Minnesota Vikings and we ended up here in this section,” Kathy said before the game. “We’re going home Monday--just in time for Denver’s victory parade. We’ve been in Los Angeles since Friday and it’s been pretty congenial. That is, except for Saturday, when we went down to Laguna Beach dressed in our orange sweat shirts. There were a bunch of Giant fans in a bar we were passing and some came up and told us we had better hide our shirts. We weren’t planning to go in before that, but then we decided to sit down.”
Kathy Bartilotta formed a distinct impression of the typical New York football fan. “They know just two words, ‘Ugh and Giants,’ ” she said.
