San Diego High School Basketball
Torrey Pines 62, Poway 56--Kevin Flanagan scored 14 points and Courtie Miller added 12 points and 15 rebounds to lead No. 5 Torrey Pines (9-3, 19-6) at home. The Falcons, who also got 13 points from Scot Thompson, moved a half-game ahead of San Dieguito into second place. Poway (2-9, 9-12) was led by Gary Anderson’s 20 points.
Orange Glen 64, Fallbrook 60--Steve Clinger scored 24 points and grabbed 9 rebounds to lead Orange Glen (3-8, 7-17) at home. Scott Carlovsky added 13 points for Orange Glen. Robby Crisell scored 15 points to lead Fallbrook (2-9, 8-16).
GROSSMONT LEAGUE
Grossmont 64, Santana 63--Lance Williams scored 18 points and Jason Foggiano added 12 to lead Grossmont (7-8, 10-12) at home. Santana (6-9, 10-12) was led by Joe Church with 20 points.
El Cajon 54, Valhalla 49--Valhalla (11-4, 15-6) missed a chance to gain a share of first place, losing at home. P.J. Penebianco scored 14 points to lead El Cajon (6-9, 9-12). Shaun Ellis and Sean Maddox scored 12 points each for El Cajon.
Helix 66, Granite Hills 49--Tim Zeddies scored 16 points to lead Helix (3-13, 6-17) at home. The Highlanders led, 31-21, at halftime. Granite Hills is 6-9, 7-14.
Monte Vista 44, El Capitan 39--El Capitan led, 27-21, at halftime but shot 35% (6 for 17) in the second half and committed 29 turnovers in the game. Monte Vista’s Wayne Hallman led all scorers with 13 points. Monte Vista (12-3, 15-5) and Mount Miguel (12-3, 14-7) are tied for first in the league. Mount Miguel plays Valhalla tonight to decide the league championship.
AVOCADO LEAGUE
El Camino 66, Ramona 40--El Camino, the defending section 2-A champion, earned its seven straight victory at home. Edmund Johnson scored 23 points and had 10 assists for El Camino (10-1, 20-4), the county’s eighth-ranked team. Lee Cobb added 18 for the Wildcats. Chad Nelson scored 13 points to lead Ramona (4-7, 11-11).
Oceanside 58, Escondido 43--Junior Seau scored 29 points to help No. 4 Oceanside (10-1, 16-7) retain a share of first place. Darren Noble added 10 for the Pirates. Escondido is 4-5, 7-11.

GIRLS GROSSMONT LEAGUE
Santana 53, Grossmont 34--Santana (14-1, 18-4) clinched a playoff birth and at least a tie for first place in the league at Grossmont. Barb Bennett had 24 points and 8 rebounds and Leslie Ellis added 14 points to lead Santana. Grossmont (10-5, 17-5) was led by Shannon Embry.
AVOCADO LEAGUE
Ramona 68, El Camino 33--Ramona’s fullcourt press limited El Camino to three points in the first period. Kristie Miller scored 20 points and Laurie Brunner added 19 points and 12 steals to pace Ramona (8-2, 16-6). Ramona is one game behind first-place San Pasqual, which faces El Camino today.
