Ron Darling to Get $1.05 Million

NEW YORK —
Mets Pitcher Ron Darling, who lost his salary arbitration case last year, today won a $1.05-million arbitration award from the club for the coming season. Darling received a salary of $440,000 in 1986. This year, the Mets offered the right-hander $800,000 after he went 15-6 in their championship season.
