Carlos De Leon of Puerto Rico retained his World Boxing Council light-heavyweight title, stopping former stablemate Angelo Rottoli of Italy in the fifth round at Bergamo, Italy.

De Leon improved his record to 41-4. It was the first loss for Rottoli, who is 23-1-2.
