Paul Simon, Whitney Houston, Dionne Warwick, Stevie Wonder, Gladys Knight, Anita Baker, Luther Vandross and Billy Idol are among the recording artists who are hoping to be on stage twice at tonight’s 29th annual Grammy Awards ceremony at the Shrine Auditorium. The artists are scheduled to perform during the nationally televised program (8 p.m. on KCBS Channel 2), and they are also each nominated in one or more Grammy categories. Simon will sing “Diamonds on the Soles of Her Shoes” from his best-selling “Graceland,” an album-of-the-year nominee, while Houston will sing “Greatest Love of All,” a best-record contender. Comedian Billy Crystal is emcee.
