TCU's Killingsworth Is Retiring

Basketball Coach Jim Killingsworth of Texas Christian, who led the Horned Frogs to their first NCAA Tournament appearance in 16 years, said Tuesday that he is retiring after a 38-year career in coaching.

The Southwest Conference coach of the year said he wants to play golf and fish in Idaho.

Killingsworth, 63, led the Horned Frogs to a 24-7 record this season, reaching the second round in the tournament.

He had a record of 130-106 at TCU and was 109-54 in six seasons at Idaho State. He also had a 158-47 record in seven seasons at Cerritos College in California, and his 38-year record, including high school and freshman coaching, was 748-292.
