Viewpoint / Letters : The NCAA Penalties Were Off the Mark
Kudos to Bob Oates for his recent commentary regarding the misdirected NCAA penalties. Colleges and universities that break the rules should hold their respective presidents responsible just as it’s done in the corporate world.
Despite the “death penalty” imposed on Southern Methodist University, it has been mentioned that nothing will change anywhere, except actions will now be more covert.
If there is to be a death penalty, let it be invoked in the “ivory tower,” not on the gridiron.
