A 9:30 a.m. fire Wednesday caused $130,000 damage to two San Carlos houses after a vehicle exploded in the garage of one of the homes, Fire Department spokesman Larry Cooke said. No one was injured.
“It was an accidental fire,” Cooke said. “The occupants were trying to start their vehicle. They were priming its carburetor with gasoline and it exploded.”
The vehicle was in the garage at 6768 Cowles Mountain Blvd. when it exploded, causing $60,000 damage, Cooke said. The blaze spread to a neighboring house at 6774 Cowles Mountain Blvd., where it caused $70,000 damage.
