Czechoslovakia’s Miloslav Mecir trounced Sweden’s Mats Wilander, 6-0, 6-2, at Milan, Italy, Saturday night to advance to a showdown with Boris Becker in the final of the $345,000 Fila trophy tournament.

Becker, 19, of West Germany struggled for more than two hours before finally subduing his doubles partner, Slobodan Zivojinovic of Yugoslavia, 6-2, 3-6, 6-2.

Winning the first 10 games, Mecir dominated Wilander to improve his record to 4-2 in head-to-head matches.

“He played well from the beginning, while I played terribly,” Wilander said.

Becker enters today’s final, awarding a first prize of $55,000, with a record of three wins and two losses in five matches against Mecir.

At Chicago, Tim Mayotte came from behind to beat Eliot Teltscher, 3-6, 7-5, 6-2, in the semifinals of a $315,000 Grand Prix tournament.

Mayotte will meet David Pate in today’s final. Pate beat Bill Scanlon, 6-3, 6-2, in the second semifinal Saturday night. The winner of today’s final will earn $50,000.

Teltscher won the first five games of the match, cruised to the first-set victory and led 5-2 in the second set before Mayotte started his comeback.

“Maybe he played better, maybe I played worse,” Teltscher said. “I really did think it was mine. I don’t recall losing one when I was that far ahead.”

Helena Sukova got on a roll against Lori McNeil and posted a 6-0, 6-3 victory at Piscataway, N.J., to win the $150,000 U.S. Women’s Indoor tennis championship.
