A fire that blazed through a North Park rooming house early Sunday forced the evacuation of 15 people and caused an estimated $150,000 in property damage, San Diego fire officials said.

Officials said that food left cooking unattended started the fire at the Aurora Rooming Lodge in the 2900 block of Juniper Street about 5:40 a.m. It took about 30 minutes for 26 firefighters to bring the blaze under control.

Damage to the contents and structure of the rooming house was estimated at $125,000, a Fire Department spokeswoman said. The fire also caused an estimated $25,000 in damage to structures next door. No one was injured.
