Community College Baseball : Cypress Wins on Boucher’s Slam

Paul Boucher hit a grand slam with two outs and two strikes in the ninth inning to give Cypress College a 7-6 victory over Merced College and third place in the Hancock Tournament at Alan Hancock College in Santa Maria.
Cypress trailed, 6-1, entering the ninth inning.
Rick Mann went 3 for 5 with an RBI for Cypress. Bill Bentley (3-0) pitched 1 innings, allowing two hits and striking out two for Cypress (3-9, 19-15).
Cypress starter Kevin Gail pitched six innings, giving up a run and six hits. He struck out three.
Saddleback 17, Southwestern 2--Don Roberson was 3 for 3 with three RBIs and two runs scored and Keith Hatch was 2 for 3 with an RBI to lead the Gauchos (9-16) at home. Dean Martinez (3-4) pitched six innings and allowed seven hits and two runs.
