Nunn Heads Home for Televised Bout
Middleweight Michael Nunn, who left his hometown of Davenport, Iowa, 2 1/2 years ago to launch a professional career, returns home tonight to meet Cecil Pettigrew (22-13-2, 15 knockouts) of Tulsa, Okla., in the 10-round main event at Palmer Auditorium.
Nunn (22-0), who now trains in North Hollywood, is ranked seventh by the World Boxing Council and ninth by the World Boxing Assn.
The fight will be telecast nationally by the ESPN cable network.
