Pacific Telesis restated its first-quarter results.
The company lowered its profit by $27 million because of a court ruling that followed a California Public Utilities Commission decision reducing Pacific Bell’s 1987 revenue. The state Supreme Court refused to grant a stay of the commission ruling, which reduced by $191 million the revenue allowed in 1987 for Pacific Bell, the regional phone company’s largest subsidiary. Restated earnings for the quarter are $265.9 million, or 62 cents per share, on revenue of $2.20 billion.
