Phoenix Suns players James Edwards, Grant Gondrezick and Jay Humphries appeared in court Thursday to enter innocent pleas on cocaine and marijuana charges. They were released without bond and ordered to stand trial June 22, along with six other men who were indicted April 16 by a Maricopa County grand jury.

Also arraigned were Garfield Heard, a former Suns player; team photographer Joey Beninato; Kevin Meriweather, roommate of Suns’ rookie William Bedford; and three Phoenix nightclub figures--Terrence Kelly, James Jordan and Ramon Vives. They also were released without bond.

A 10th defendant, former player Mike Bratz, did not appear Thursday. He has been free on $25,000 bond in California and extradition proceedings are pending.
