Viewpoint/ Letters : Porter Should Listen to Himself Sometime
I was shocked to read that Ross Porter has been tagged with a bad rep due to his reliance on statistics. Living on both coasts, and now with the luxury of cable TV, I’ve had the chance to listen to more than a few announcers of baseball and I think Ross Porter is one of the finest in the business.
In regard to statistics, some people (including myself) can’t get enough of them. Baseball is fun when you are at the park, but sometimes it can be a little boring to watch on TV. Statistics are a good way to keep the interest flowing. Keep it up, Ross, and keep those stats rolling.
