Garza Beats Ruelaz on a Split Decision
Jaime Garza, former World Boxing Council super-bantamweight champion, earned a split decision over Baby Joe Ruelaz Monday night at the Forum.
Garza, 126 pounds, of Alhambra, used hard body punches to slow Ruelaz down in the ninth for the fight’s only knockdown.
Garza improved to 46-2 with 42 knockouts. Ruelaz, from Santa Ana, dropped to 20-4.
