Police Identify Slaying Victim Found in Garden Grove Apartment
Garden Grove police Monday identified a slaying victim whose body was found Sunday morning in his apartment in the 13500 block of Robyn Court.
The victim was Luis Fernando Rangel, 24, said Lt. Ken Whitman. “He died of multiple gunshot wounds, and his body had been in his apartment for some time before it was discovered Sunday,” said Whitman.
“We are looking for a 15-year-old male for questioning. He was one of three other roommates who shared the apartment with Rangel. He’s been missing.”
Whitman said the other roommates had been accounted for. He said they hadn’t discovered the body earlier because of the timing of their work shifts.
Whitman also said the murder victim’s car is missing and is being sought by police. The car was described as “an older model” brown-on-white vehicle, with California license tag 729 SLL.
Police said no motive for the slaying has been determined.
