West Hollywood : Schulte Retires Campaign Debt
City Councilman Steve Schulte raised enough money at a fund-raising dinner last week to retire his campaign debt of about $20,000, an aide said.
About 200 people attended the event to honor Schulte, who has been on the council since the city was established more than two years ago.
Schulte, who stepped down this month as the third mayor of West Hollywood, said the city launched major projects during his term as head of the five-member council, including the design process for a new civic center and preliminary work on a general plan to regulate development for the city of 38,000 residents.
Schulte was presented with a souvenir gavel at a City Council meeting Tuesday night.
