Jim Naylor shot a 70, his first under-par round at Rancho Park Golf Course, but that isn’t what was notable. His play included his first hole in one (on the 206-yard 12th hole), and he finished with an eagle on the 17th hole and a birdie on the 18th.

Others who shot aces at Los Angeles Municipal courses included Sandor Israel of West Los Angeles at Penmar, Jim Kavanagh of San Pedro at Rancho and Carl Bradshaw, Russell Markus and Bryan Cupp, all of West Los Angeles, at Rancho’s nine-hole course.

Stan Funk shot a 32 to win the A flight at the Penmar Men’s Golf Club’s June tournament. Other flight winners and their gross scores for nine holes were Howard Pederson, B, 37; Bill Hannan, C, 36, and Herb Cohn, D, 41.
