Taking center court in this weekend’s Fourth of July lineup on the tube will be the fireworks provided by the folks at Wimbledon.

Today’s tennis action finds Martina Navratilova facing Steffi Graf in the women’s finals. NBC will cover the competition as part of a five-hour broadcast starting at 8 a.m. (4)(36)(39).

Sunday will bring the men’s singles showdown in a six-hour finale from England that gets under way at 8 a.m. on the same stations.

If baseball’s your game, you’ve got the revitalized California Angels hosting the Milwaukee Brewers tonight at 6 on KTLA Channel 5, while the struggling Dodgers visit the Pirates in Pittsburgh Sunday at 10:30 a.m. on KTTV Channel 11.

And for those baseball fans with a fondness for the superstars of years past, there is today’s CBS telecast of the Old-Timers Baseball Classic from RFK Stadium in Washington. Fifty-two of the very best, including Hall of Famers Hank Aaron, Joe DiMaggio and Harmon Killebrew, will don their uniforms and doff their caps once again at 2 p.m. (2)(8).

The baseball game will be followed by CBS’ third-round coverage of the Canadian Open Golf tournament today at 3:30 p.m., with the final round due Sunday at 11 a.m. (2)(8).

Meanwhile, viewers will have a variety of offerings on the sports anthology programs.

ABC’s “Wide World of Sports” features the Dream Mile from the Bislett Track & Field Meet in Norway plus the NASCAR Firecracker 400 in Florida today at 3 p.m. (10), 4 p.m. (7)(3)(42).

“Sports Sunday” on CBS, airing at 1 p.m. (2)(8), has cycling and boxing. It will cover an early phase of the 22-day Tour de France race, to be carried over the next four Sundays. In addition there’s a 10-round bout between Juan LaPorte and Lupe Suarez.

At 2 p.m. Sunday on Channels 4, 36 and 39 comes the U.S. Gymnastics Championships from Kansas City on NBC’s “SportsWorld.”
