EMMY NOMINEES OUT ON JULY 30
Nominations for the 39th annual Emmy Awards will be announced July 30 at 5:30 a.m., the early hour planned to accommodate live East Coast television coverage, the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences explained.
Oscar nominations have been announced at an early hour for the benefit of morning TV news shows, and academy administrator Shirley Kennedy said the Emmys will now follow suit. In past years, the Emmy nominations have been announced here at 9 a.m. or 9:30 a.m.
The site of the Emmy nominee announcement hasn’t been finalized.
Fox Broadcasting will carry the Emmy Awards’ telecast this year on Sept. 20, marking the first time one of the three other commercial networks was not chosen.
