Tight-Fitting Incentive

Kathleen Turner came away from her latest movie with more than just another screen credit. She took home a batch of suede outfits that she wore in the film. (It’s called “Switching Channels,” due out next fall.) Everything is by Nino Cerruti, and Listen hears from Mary Hall Ross of the designer’s office that Turner chose the tightest-fitting things for her personal wardrobe. “It’s her incentive to lose weight,” said Ross, who explains that Turner is due to have a baby in November. . . . Wonder who’s making her maternity clothes?

A Good Reflection

Mirror, mirror on the wall, Barbara Walters could buy them all. “She keeps coming back for more,” Hope Boonshaft-Lewis, spokeswoman for Miroir Brot vanity mirrors, says of the small reflecting glass with the big price tag (from $195 to $790). So far, Walters has added three of the vanity mirrors to her home, and she bought several more to give as gifts, Boonshaft-Lewis said. George Hamilton is another Miroir Brot buyer, she added. The mirrors can be found at the French Reflection shop in Beverly Hills--and the ladies room at the new Four Seasons hotel nearby.

The Voice Principal

Victoria Principal’s younger sister Kim belted out a song in more ways than one the other night. Listen caught her act at At My Place in Santa Monica, where the champagne blonde wore a black silk jacket, turquoise tights and a bodice she said she had made “from a wide spandex belt left over from the ‘70s.” What’s more, the top was literally glued to her body. “I put the halter in place, then glued the front so I could sprinkle black glitter on the glue. I let it dry on my body so it would mold to me. That way it stays in place and doesn’t jump around when I move. I also painted the hooks black,” the singer added. Kim says she wears something different every night when she’s on a job, such as the one she starts tonight at the Port Royal with her five-piece band, Breathless.

If She’d Eat the Holes . . .

Shari Belafonte-Harper has a method to her madcap way of staying in shape. She eats lots of doughnuts so she’ll have no choice but to hit the exercise mat. Listen hears this from Jeff Angel, the makeup artist who tended to Harper for a series of TV commercials she made for Lawry’s Seasoned Salt. Harper showed Angel her tough workout routine between camera takes. “Quite painful,” he recalled. He learned another of Harper’s secrets that day. She likes light-color lipsticks and chose one that Angel said he also uses on Catherine Deneuve. It’s Cafe Glacee by Merle Norman.
