Minnesota Vikings quarterback Tommy Kramer was arrested late Friday night in Bloomington, Minn., for allegedly driving while intoxicated, authorities said.
Kramer is scheduled to appear on Aug. 6 in Hennepin County District Court.
Kramer, the NFC’s top-rated passer last season, later decided to voluntarily enter a rehabilitation program, said his attorney, Larry Zelle.
“He plans to complete the program in time to be ready to start as quarterback for the opening of the NFL season,” Zelle said.
Kramer was treated at a California hospital for alcohol problems following the 1981 NFL season.
