Culver City : Dance Team Takes 2nd Place

The 11-member Culver City Senior High School dance team returned home Sunday after taking second place in the Miss Drill Team International competition in Tokyo.

The all-girl team, sponsored by the city’s Department of Human Services, competed against 11 other teams from the United States, Australia, Japan and England during the eight-day event.

The name of Amy Snell, captain of the Culver City Senior High School dance team, was omitted from a list of team members that appeared in last Thursday’s Westside section.

They qualified for the international contest by placing fourth in the Miss Drill Team U. S. A. competition last March.

While in Japan, the team toured Tokyo, Osaka and Culver City’s sister city, Kaizuka.

Team members are director Kym Weber, captain Nina Ball and Amy Epman, Carina Escudero, LaTonya Grundy, Laura Hatfield, Robin Marumoto, Jennifer Olmos, Tara Petitte, Nicki Rivas and Pam Shults.
