Auburn’s Jeff Burger, whose eligibility was restored Tuesday, is ready to turn his attention to football, but the head of the school’s academic honesty committee, which heard allegations of plagiarism against the senior quarterback, wants to keep the matter alive.

Gregory Jeane, chairman of the committee that recommended Burger’s suspension for two quarters, said he is upset that the suspension was lifted. He has asked to address the faculty on the matter Oct. 6.

Jeane, an associate professor of geography, said other students have been suspended for similar violations, but Burger’s case was the first in which the committee’s decision was overturned.
