Twenty-six charities will benefit from the Los Angeles Marathon next year, according to Dr. William A. Burke, race president. Each charity will be authorized to solicit funds on its behalf for the March 6, 1988, race and will represent a specific mile along the 26-mile course.

The charities:

AIDS Project Los Angeles, All-Nations Foundation, American Cancer Society, American Lung Assn. of Los Angeles County, American Red Cross, Big Sisters-Big Brothers Agencies of Los Angeles, Catholic Youth Organization, Children’s Institute International, City of Hope, Crippled Children’s Society, Jewish Community Centers Assn., Junior League of Los Angeles, Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, L.I.F.E. (Love is Feeding Everyone), Los Angeles Boys and Girls Clubs, the Muscular Dystrophy Assn., National Assn. for Sickle Cell Disease, Para Los Ninos (For the Children), the Southern California Chapter of the Retinitis Pigmentosa Foundation Fighting Blindness, Suicide Prevention Center, Travelers Aid Society of Los Angeles, UCLA UniCamp, Weingart Center Assn., Wildlife Way Station, YMCA of Metropolitan Los Angeles, YWCA of Los Angeles.
