Alsen, Lawson Win Cross-Country Titles

Ian Alsen of Granada Hills High and Sheri Lawson of Kennedy won the boys and girls individual titles at the Reebok Fall Classic cross-country meet in Redondo Beach on Saturday.

Alsen, runner-up in last year’s City Section cross-country championships, was timed in 15 minutes, 49 seconds over the three-mile course. His teammates, junior Craig Lawson (Sheri’s brother) and senior Paul Klinedinst, placed third (16:04) and fifth (16:12).

In the girls race, Sheri Lawson ran the three-mile course in 20:19.
