Cal Lutheran Loses Demmon to Injury

Share

Sean Demmon, a linebacker and defensive end at Cal Lutheran, suffered what doctors have diagnosed as “probable torn ligaments” in his left knee and will miss the 1987 football season. The 6-0, 220-pound senior from Coronado said he will redshirt and play his final season in 1988.

Demmon, who led CLU in tackles last year, had been recovering from nerve damage in his neck suffered in the seventh game of the 1986 season. He appeared healthy in preseason practices and was projected to be CLU’s starting right defensive end.

Demmon is the second Kingsman player lost for the season due to injury. Oscar Williams, described by Coach Bob Shoup as “perhaps our best defensive back,” is out with a torn rotator cuff.
