A rapist who wears a ski mask while attacking his victims is being sought by authorities in Santa Clara County as a suspect in more than 25 sexual assaults on women during the last three years. Police from several departments held a news conference in San Jose to appeal for public assistance in catching the man, described as a Latino in his mid- to-late 20s who carries a gun. The victims, ranging from 17 to 77, have all been white, mostly professional and mostly blonde or light-haired. The so-called “ski-mask rapist” is suspected of 15 to 16 sexual assaults in San Jose, four in Palo Alto, four in Los Gatos, and one each in Sunnyvale, Mountain View, Saratoga and an unincorporated areas of Santa Clara County, police said.
