I am writing to express my concern about KCOP’s programming. Specifically, I sat down Aug. 16 to watch television, thinking that I would be watching an appropriate “Sunday evening” movie. I began watching “A Killer in the Family,” which started at 6 p.m. Perhaps the title should have alerted me to the fact that this was not an innocent family show. Nevertheless I was certainly not expecting a movie at that time of day in which a family is brutally murdered. Although I do not hold the station responsible for creating the film, I feel it was neglecting its duties to the audience by showing a film so violent at that time of day. I don’t believe a movie like that is suitable to be shown on television at any time, and certainly not during what is traditionally known as the “family hour.”
