Peter Elliott of Britain won the Mercedes Mile on Fifth Avenue in New York with a clocking of 3 minutes 53.52 seconds.
Marcus O’Sullivan of Ireland was second in 3:53.95, followed by Jim Spivey of the United States in 3:54.04.
The women’s race was won by Kirsty Wade of Britain in 4:22.70. It was the sixth straight year a foreign runner had won the women’s race.
The first American was Diana Richburg, ninth in 4:37.26.
