Local News in Brief : Girl, 3, Stabbed to Death
A 3-year-old girl was stabbed to death and her mother was seriously wounded at their Willowbrook home Friday morning in what Los Angeles County sheriff’s homicide detectives said was an apparent family dispute.
Deputies said the child slain in the house in the 1800 block of East 123rd Street was Jonetta Johnson. Her mother, Yvonne Johnson, 32, reportedly was stabbed numerous times and underwent surgery at Martin Luther King Jr. Medical Center.
Being sought in the case is Bryan Frederick Johnson, 28, identified as the woman’s brother-in-law. Sheriff’s Information Bureau Deputy Willie Miller said the motive for the stabbings was not known.
