Hotels Offer Discounts

Hotel promotions continue to proliferate, both domestically and internationally.

Hilton is offering a Hilton Week-Ender rate of $59 a room at 180 properties throughout the continental United States. This rate is available on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights until Dec. 13.

The $59 rate applies to single or double occupancy. Children accompanied by a parent stay free as a standard policy. Continental breakfasts for each guest daily is included.

Rooms at this special rate are on a capacity control basis, so the sooner you make a reservation the better. Contact travel agents or Hilton at (800) HILTONS.

Days Inns has extended its Simple Super Saver program from the end of the year to Oct. 1, 1988. Under this program you can get a rate of $19 to $39 at more than 500 participating hotels, with prices representing savings of 20% to 60% off regular rates, according to a chain spokeswoman.

You have to make your reservations at least 29 days ahead. The discount rate is for up to four guests per room. In addition, you can get the special rate throughout the week, including holidays.

The first night has to be prepaid, but you can cancel up to 15 days in advance of your stay without penalty. If you cancel 14 days or less before arrival, you forfeit your deposit. Cancellations can be made through the chain’s toll-free number.

On the international front, if you stay four nights at regular rates at any of 14 Trusthouse Forte Hotels in London, you get three free nights at any of the chain’s 72 properties throughout England, Scotland and Wales.

The three free nights have to follow the four-night London stay, but you can split the gratis nights at three locations. Service charges and the Value Added Tax are included with the complimentary accommodations.

This program is in effect from Oct. 15 through next March 31, except for the Dec. 21-Jan. 2 holiday period.
